Swanson Counseling & Consulting
Breaking negative patterns through safe, relational, and trauma-informed therapy.
My Story
I am a husband, father, foster parent, and former teacher whose life work has been helping people learn, heal, and grow. Because of my background, my approach is strictly client-centered: therapy should be uniquely tailored to you, focusing entirely on your goals, hopes, and dreams. And if you don’t know what those are--thatis okay too, I can help you figure that out too.
As a childhood trauma survivor, I initially pursued teaching to support children. Realizing I wanted to make a deeper impact, I transitioned into counseling as a family-based therapist. Through this work, I discovered that supporting parents and stabilizing the family system is one of the most effective ways to help children thrive.
Given my roots in education, I also specialize in supporting teachers and school staff navigating the unique stressors of today’s academic world. I walk alongside individuals, couples and families facing a variety of challenges, offering both short-term, solution-focused therapy and long-term, psychodynamic healing.
My primary goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel genuinely understood. Together, we will cut through the noise of toxic stress so you can make healthy decisions and achieve the growth you are looking for.
